The whole 9/11 widow crew...
I'm not a very big fan of the 'professional' mourner. We've got a band of 9/11 gals roaming around leading a crowd of people who seem to not be able to get over the fact that a loved one of theirs is dead. I'm not saying that they should be skipping rope on 9/12/01, but it's been 2 1/2 years and they still cant get over the fact that people die. It sucks, but people are dying by the thousands every day across America, it's just a sad part of life. Ok, now that's out of the way. So why arent they getting over the deaths? I believe that there are two reasons that are connected in many ways.
1. On 9/11 many people died. You had the Pentagon which killed a lot of military working personnel who were probably Republican. You had the 4 planes that were really early redeye flights across the country, so I would put 60%Republican-40% Democrat. But when you look at the Trade towers, it probably flops over to 80%Democrat-10%Green-10%Republican. It's just a fact that NYC is pretty damn Liberal. Not only that but I'm sure the terrorist killed some rabid Democrats too. So now you've got rabid Democrat widows railing against every Republican in every 9/11 hearing. Which brings me to the second reason why they cant get over it.
2. The media. The media gives anyone who has a grieviance against the administration a soapbox. They are there with camera and microphone in the face of every soldier's parents or loved ones to ask about how they feel about Bush's war. Which ones get played? A few positives and every negative, that's what gets played. This isnt fair to the families who are working through their grief. It's not fair to let these people make asses out of themselves while the grieve. The media has cultivated these 9/11 widows into a nice little anti Republican advocacy group. They've never had private time to get over the deaths and they've been encouraged to mouth off again and again. Every other day they are in the news saying the Democrat talking points. When is the public going to see them for what they are (Democrat puppets). Sure out hearts went out to you after the tragedy much as our hearts go out to everyone who loses loved ones. But now you've turned it around and had yourself elevated to this 9/11 widow platform where everyone treats you with kid gloves and prints every anti-Bush word out of your mouth. All of a sudden, your an expert on terrorism or politics or foreign policy, yeah right. Sit down, shut up, and get over it already, there's work to be done.
Camden is 1 today! It's hard to believe that it's been a year, but looking back over this blog and I can see that I've just been a tad busy getting my butt kicked into fatherhood.
